Elizabeth V.

My name is Elizabeth Vicencio Calderón, I am from South America. I am a native Spanish Speaker and a professional Translator and Interpreter in the English-Spanish languages. I am a highly motivated person looking for job opportunities where I can apply and expand my knowledge and skills in order to grow professionally on a continuous basis. Although my work experience is limited, I have a solid base of knowledge and skills that allow me to face new challenges and learn quickly. I am a person with great social and communication skills, proactive, organized and responsible, able to work under pressure and willing to invest the time and effort necessary to grow professionally through training and continuous education. During my formal education I have had the opportunity to translate a wide range of documents, including literature, technical materials, and texts related to human and natural sciences. I made an outstanding contribution to my university with the translation from Spanish to English of the book "Istmo de Ofqui. Un proceso inconcluso de Conectividad en la Zona Sur Austral" written by Emilia Astorga and Sebastián Saavedra. I was also part of a group of students who translated into Spanish different odes from the book HOLOHOLO (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2021) written by Barbara Hamby, led by the Punta Angeles publishing house. Of which I translated "Ode to Words for Smells", "Ode on Killing the Sadness" and "Ode on Going Holoholo and Getting Lost." This added to my knowledge and skills makes me an excellent candidate to translate different and varied types of texts.
